Dryve Selected for Canada-Japan Battery Materials Evaluation Program with LIBTEC

Independent testing to support qualification with Japanese and global battery manufacturers

Nova Scotia, Canada — September 16, 2026: Dryve Battery Materials Inc. (“Dryve” or the “Company”), a Canadian battery materials technology company, has been invited by Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) to participate in a Canada-Japan battery materials evaluation program through the Lithium-ion Battery Technology and Evaluation Center (“LIBTEC”), an independent battery evaluation organization based in Japan.

As part of the program, Dryve will provide samples of its NCM 613 cathode active material for independent testing at LIBTEC’s facilities in Japan. Testing will follow LIBTEC’s standardized, customer-relevant protocols and is expected to include performance, rate capability, resistance, impedance, cycle-life and high-temperature storage testing.

The resulting third-party data is expected to support customer qualification, technical validation and commercial discussions with Japanese and global battery manufacturers, automotive companies and materials suppliers.

Dryve is commercializing a patented dry, precursor-free process for producing nickel-based cathode active materials. Unlike conventional manufacturing, which typically relies on precursor cathode active materials (pCAM) and wet chemical processing, Dryve’s process uses sulphate-free feed materials and combines key inputs through a simplified dry process while producing the same high-performance nickel-based cathode active materials. Independent engineering has shown Dryve’s process can significantly reduce capital and operating costs, simplify manufacturing and lower environmental impact, to enable more regional and resilient battery material supply chains.

Dryve’s global patent portfolio includes granted patents in key battery manufacturing regions, including Japan, the United States, Europe, and China with recent allowances in Korea. The patents protect Dryve’s differentiated approach to cathode manufacturing, including the elimination of pCAM and wet chemical processing.

Dryve’s technology is operating at pilot scale today, with its integrated 100 tonne per year facility in Nova Scotia producing cathode materials for customer evaluation. Dryve is actively sampling materials to cathode producers, battery manufacturers and automotive OEMs, and its materials have demonstrated performance competitive with commercially available cathode materials. The Company is now advancing customer qualification and commercial opportunities with industry partners.

The initiative supports broader Canada-Japan cooperation to strengthen secure, diversified and sustainable critical minerals and battery supply chains, while providing Dryve with an opportunity to advance technical discussions with leading participants in the global battery industry.
